How does a twin clutch disc?
There are two disks separated by a plate of floating freely in the package clutch. other than that they work exactly as a single disc. The advantage is that the overall surface friction is increased by the addition the other disc. So even if the overall mass of the assembly may not be lighter because the diameter is less than the centrifugal mass is reduced. Combined with lightened flywheels and shafts, they enable faster acceleration and deceleration.
