Why do some people get a nose bleed: Bloody Nose: The nose was built for bleeding a doctor once told me. He said that the nose was filled with many blood vessels, and many of them are thin and are on the surface of the inside of the nose. It takes very little damage to break one of these blood vessels that can cause severe bleeding.

A slap or a blow to the nose can cause severe bleeding, and dry air in winter causing the nose lining to crack, picking the nose can easily break a vessel, as well as blowing or even snuffing nose.

The most important rule to follow when we suffer a nosebleed is to stay as calm as possible, because the flow of blood will increase if panic sets in. You should sit down and lean forward, keeping the head at a level that is above the heart. The nose should be firmly clamped just below the bridge and the pressure maintained for ten minutes, which will allow a coagulation process to develop.

The good news is that almost all cases of nosebleeds in a healthy child is medically not serious. So why does my child get a nose bleed? The nose has a thin membrane (mucosa) that covers the blood vessels located inside the nose.

Ice packs may be beneficial can be applied to the dorsum or back of the neck.

A test of oxymetazoline (Afrin) or phenylephrine vasoconstrictor (Neo-Synephrine), powerful, can stop the bleeding. Use only as directed on the label.

Apply a small amount bacitracin ointment or petroleum jelly to a Q-tip and insert up into the nasal passages. Do not place high enough to cause discomfort.

Run a humidifier during the winter months or to a pan of water in your room. Make sure to change the water daily and follow all instructions for cleaning to prevent the buildup of fungus.

Pinch Method

Pinch your nose just below the bridge. It there is a vein just below the nose bone that is the culprit in 99% of bloody noses. Pinching puts pressure on it, which stops the bleeding and speeds the clotting process.

Pressure method

Find the two very slight depressions on the back of the skull, approximately four fingers of the base of the skull (in line with the top of the ears) and four fingers of the midline of the back of the skull. If you had eyes in the back of your head, that's where they are.

Blood in the stool

Not all the problems associated with bloody stool are of serious emergencies. A bloody stools can be fatal if the stool becomes dark, smelly, and the blood is the only thing that is excreted through the rectum. This condition may be hemorrhagic gastroenteritis. high blood in the stool could not be treated at home. Getting help veterinarian immediately.

If the advice given are ineffective in controlling bleeding and difficulty breathing is present, see your veterinarian immediately for specific tests to diagnose the cause of the problem.
