What should I take regarding the estate of my father?
My father died 2 months ago. His girlfriend of 30 years made arrangements funeral home and used her PIN to withdraw money from his bank to cover the costs. She had the keys to his cars and apt and get rid of her clothes and personal items. She never lived with him and has been administrator of his estate designation. No will has been located. I live abroad. My father owed me $ 6,000 when he died, which is documented. He owned 2 cars, a utility trailer, and some construction equipment, which intends GF to have a certain way. It has not been very cooperative with me when I ask questions. I know I can hire a lawyer, but it cost more that I'll recover. The police can prevent it to follow, since it is not kin? I have only one sister – she lives across the country. My aunt (Dad's sister) does not quarrel with the Global Fund has already much trouble. I called the County Court and they said "take counsel".
Contact the Probate Court in the county where your father is dead and ask them what you must do to prevent him from doing anything else.
